The acting more or less steals the show over a bit of a convoluted story, yet the mystery and adventure aspect makes the nearly two-and-a-half hour running time bearable. Howard and Hanks were getting ready to make the next sequel based on the third book in the series, The Lost Symbol, once upon a time, but it was ultimately decided to skip that one and move right to the fourth book, Inferno, for the third movie. The first book was Angels & Demons, which became the second movie, reworked to be a sequel instead of a prequel. The Da Vinci Code was the first movie, based on Brown’s second book to feature the Robert Langdon character. Howard’s trilogy has jumped around a bit when it comes to Brown’s original books. Sy also has a role with Khan in Jurassic World.īabett Knudsen has starred in Borgen, Let’s Get Lost, After the Wedding, and Speed Walking. He’s also known for Micmacs, The Intouchables, and Mood Indigo. Sy has appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past, where he played Bishop. He can also be seen in this summer’s highly anticipated Jurassic World. Khan is known for his roles in Life of Pi, The Amazing Spider-Man, Slumdog Millionaire, A Mighty Heart, and The Darjeeling Limited. The actress was also recently reported to be in talks for a role in Gareth Edwards’ standalone Star Wars movie. She has also starred in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Tempest, Like Crazy, Hysteria, Breathe In, and the upcoming True Story. Jones is a current Academy Award nominee for her work in the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything, in which she stars alongside fellow nominee Eddie Redmayne. Elizabeth Sinskey, Omar Sy as Christoph Bruder, Irrfan Khan as Harry Sims “The Provost,” and of course, Tom Hanks returning as Robert Langdon.

The previous two movies, 2006’s The Da Vinci Code and 2009’s Angels & Demons, starred two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks in the lead, and the actor again reprises his role as Robert Langdon for the trilogy-maker. Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard has officially revealed the cast for Inferno, the third movie in his Da Vinci Code trilogy based on the books of author Dan Brown.
